Article 5: Use of Force
Section 5A -- Self-Defense Justification
(a) Lethal force only permissible if:
Imminent threat of death/grievous bodily harm.
No safe retreat is possible ("stand your ground" limited to homes/businesses).
(b) Duty to report incidents to police within 24 hours.
Section 5B -- Criminal Misuse
(a) Using a firearm in commission of a crime adds 10 years to sentences.
Section 5C -- Mandatory Emergency Reporting
(a) Permitted Discharge Areas:
Firearms may only be discharged in registered shooting ranges, licensed gun shop testing areas, or lawful self-defense scenarios.
(b) Emergency Notification:
Any firearm discharge outside permitted areas must be reported immediately to emergency number 221, regardless of intent or outcome.
Failure to report within 10 minutes results in automatic High offence charges (punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment).
(c) Self-Defense Exemption:
Reporting remains mandatory, but lawful self-defense discharges are exempt from criminal liability if proven justified.
