Article 1

Preamble:

To establish procedures for the adjudication of criminal offences in the Constitutional Monarchy of Links Land, ensuring due process, judicial fairness, and alignment with the Constitution (Chapter 5, Article 14).

Article 1: Jurisdiction of Criminal Courts

Section 1A -- High Offence Court

(a) Adjudicates felonies (crimes punishable by >5 years imprisonment or death, e.g., murder, treason).

(b) Trials require a jury of 12 peers unless waived by the defendant.

Section 1B -- Low Offence Court

(a) Handles misdemeanors (crimes with penalties of 6 months-5 years, e.g., theft, assault).

(b) Trials may use a jury of 6 peers or a bench trial at the defendant's election.

Section 1C -- Fine Offence Tribunal

(a) Resolves infractions (violations punishable by fines or community service, e.g., traffic offenses).

(b) Proceedings conducted summarily by a magistrate.
